NOW the luggage arrives!

Two days after I ended up hauling my Bernina 830, strapped into the back seat of the car like a child and praying I didn’t have to slam on the brakes, up to my dealer in Missouri, my Tutto luggage for it finally arrived.
Oh well, at least when I go retrieve my machine from its hospital stay, I won’t have to worry about hauling it back home without any protection!
For those that asked why I went the Tutto route instead of getting the Bernina luggage, I had several reasons. I have the Bernina suitcase system for my 630, and it is wonderful. Very well made, well padded, and easy to haul around with the handle. But it’s HUGE… just like this new set is. However, the Tutto luggage folds down flat, the Bernina luggage does not. I simply haven’t room to store both luggage sets without folding at least one of them up.
Secondly, for some crazy reason, Bernina chose not to make a suitcase for the embroidery module, only the machine. No help there, if I’m hauling the machine in for servicing, the embroidery module is going along too!
And last, the Bernina suitcase is such a tight fit, that you have to remove the thread cover to even fit the machine inside. No thanks, I’d end up breaking or losing it.
The Tutto luggage is not as nice as the Bernina luggage, in my opinion. Far less padding, and of course it’s not contoured specifically to the machine like the Bernina luggage is. But it has room for everything, and then some. This time around, it suited my needs best.
The Tutto XXL is the size needed for the 820/830 machines, and the L embroidery module is needed for the embroidery module. I purchased my set from Planet Patchwork.

CJ, I have a Tutto bag for my 630, and I love it. I never worry about it tipping over, and it rolls like a dream. The inside protection -- the rigid bars -- give me peace of mind, and there's plenty of room for "extras" like fabric, tools and notions.
I have Tutto for my Janome 6600, a 27lb beast! I took a FMQ class and was required to bring the machine that I planned to do the majority of quilting on... I am glad I had it. The class was held during in the middle of winter (VT)! It even tracked well in snow covered parking lot! Lol!!
Funny, I never heard of Tutto luggage before you blogged about it. But in the last few days, I have seen other blogs talking about it and a TV commercial. Must be good stuff. I'll remember if I decide to get something to use to take my machine traveling.
I guess you are over your "bug".
I love my Tutto! It is lime green and smokin' hot!! Polly
CJ - I have the Bernina luggage for my 730, and although it is sturdy it is huge. I keep it in my basement wrapped with large black trash bags, so I hesitate to even get it out to take my machine to a class. So, it really isn't doing me any good. Congrats on the Tutto bags purchase. Smart!
Bernina is now coming out with the luggage for the 830 embroidery module. My store said they had ONE in, but will be getting more.
That looks like some "cool" luggage for the 830 and probably a much more reasonable cost than the Bernina. My husband wrenched his back badly in the struggle to place the 830 into the backseat. Like you said CJ it is like strapping in a large kid into the safety belt.
I could cry when I see my beautiful Bernina suitcase system for the 730E, in its excellent condition and now just stored away. It of course does not fit my 830 and I traded my 730E at the time of purchase.
Should anyone one be interested in acquiring my suitcase system, it would be so great. I hate it when excellent and practical things are being wasted .
Should CJ permit and wish to forward you my email address, I would be delighted to provide the details. Perhaps one of the Bernina friends could benefit.
Thank you

would the suitcase system fit a aurora 440?
