Score!

The delivery guys showed up with my new cutting table promptly at ten o’clock this morning.  I had them back up to the garage and we unloaded it directly into my quilting area.  The table is awesome, but we got to chatting, and they asked if I ever quilted upholstery fabric.  I said that I hadn’t, but I certainly could!  They took my brochure and will call me whenever they have leftover upholstery fabric, which sounded like a fair amount!  Small pieces, but they would be awesome for crafts, totes, and even certain types of quilts.

The camera angle is awkard, but I took a few pictures showing the storage space in the cabinet.

The two front doors have quite a large area to put things in.  The drawer above them slides freely all the way through, so it can be accessed from either side.  I have my two big square rulers and a rotary cutter in there at the moment.

On the side, there is a small drawer up top with two small open shelves below.  The wine rackes in the front are completely removable.

I called the French Seam over in Stuttgart, and will be driving up there tomorrow to drop my Bernina 830 off.  They do not do same day service, not a dealer in Arkansas that I’ve found does.  Oh well.  What’s a measly ten hours of driving?

I sewed a few more pinwheel blocks and a couple more smaller monkey designs, just playing around at this point getting a feel for the quilt.

I had a wonderful bali batik fat quarter in my stash that was just perfect for the dolphin… or whale… I’m not sure which it is actually.

I think I just have three more designs small enough to do on the 630, the others can’t really be split because they’re applique.

This is really neat! It looks to be the perfect size with perfect storage. Don't know if you do any embroidery, but the wine racks are perfect for storage of bulk stabilizers! (That's what I use mine for). I've got a similiar (but not nearly as awesome) piece in my room. I use it for EVERYTHING! It's on wheels, so I just pull it around wherever I need a little extra table space.

Congrats on your new piece. It is awesome!

Oh my--that thing is awesome!! Your quilt is looking wonderful, and you're keeping on with it.

And yes, 10 hours is nothing (says she who is thrilled to have her son and family 18 hours away in a few weeks!!!)

Now I'm afraid to ever take Moby in for a check-up...

What a neat piece of furniture--I love the drawer that goes all the way through!
And the monkey designs are too cute. They stitch out very nicely. i gotta get going on mine--I'm doing the monkey alphabet combos.

Oh, and it might be a porpoise...we just had a big family discussion on the difference between a dolphin and a porpoise...ended up googling it to get the facts.

What a great cutting table. It looks like you are getting some work done on the Monkey Quilt even without your machine. I hope you are able to get it fixed quickly.

I adore that cabinet!

Quit complaining about the drive or I will come and slap you. LOL!!!

Love the cabinet!
I am thankful our dealer (1 1/2 hrs. away) does do same day service. Have an appt. for next week to get my 440 in for her check-up. They figure 2hrs. Also my sister is going too with her machine-another 2 hrs. We will be spending 4+ hours touring the finger lakes region. Love the Amish bulk food store. The dealer is Amish I believe-has a special dispensation to sell the machines. Uses compressed air to power the tools. Very reliable and the lowest prices!

I had a lot of upholstery fabric samples given to me. I cut them in 10" squares and made a simple top. There were so many different colors and textures that it worked up beautifully. They really don't need a batting either if you use a decent weight back.

And . . . Did you get those drawers all filled up?

I'm interested in that lovely cabinet. Care to share its make, model, or other identifying information? Did you get it at a furniture store or where? Thanks!

Nancy, it's the kitchen island from the "Attic Heirlooms" collection by Broyhill. I bought it at a local furniture store.

Love the cabinet! I have been thinking of having something built. However, I really like yours.

That's a gorgeous cutting table, CJ! I'm completely jealous -- even though I don't have room for a cutting table at all. LOL!

Thanks, CJ. Looks like it may be a discontinued item with Broyhill. None listed at their site.

Love the new cabinet. Great idea to go with Broyhill. They make nice furniture. Love the quilt you are doing. Makes me want to do more embroidery.
