Design wall Monday

Ha!  Did anyone notice I have a “wall” this Monday instead of a design “floor”?  LOL  I don’t know why I still prefer using the floor most of the time to lay out my projects, but I do.

Not a lot of progress on this since last week when I posted it.  All the sashing strips are sewn now, and I have two more rows of blocks to do.  Then I have to figure out what I’m doing for the borders.  I may follow the pattern, I may not.

Jim’s headed back down to New Orleans this morning, so I anticipate getting a lot of sewing done this week… I may even get this top finished before he gets back.

Head over to Judy’s and see what everyone else is working on this week!

This is very pretty! The blocks look very intricate and complicated, and I like the way the different values make each block look unique. Sometimes I have a "design floor", too! Today I have a "design door". ;-) Take care, Dianne

That's the way I make a quilt, start the center (whether I am following a pattern or not), than look at it and decide what I want for borders. I don't know how Judy can make the borders first, I usually can't visualize them or if I can my visualization changes as the quilt progresses. lol

I'm really liking this one! I like the cornerstones in the sashing. I think it sets off the blocks nicely. What pattern is this?

Well, if you make the borders first, you don't have to think about it any more! :) I don't know how the rest of the quilting world makes the center first! :) I've always been kinda backwards. Love the colors in this quilt. Amazing that I like these colors when everyone else uses them but I never use them. Hope you get lots of sewing done this week.

A very nice quilt on your design wall. I, too, often use the floor for a "design wall" though I do have a wall for it.

You are almost there - a few more blocks and it's done: nice lay-out!

I really do like this quilt.

Can't believe I got up this morning and started working on school things right off and forgot about "Design Wall Monday". I plan to sew all weekend so I should definitely have something on it next week.
