Smelly feet?

So I went to the podiatrist today.  After a day spent at the longarm, I can barely walk.  I decided it was time.  The nice doctor X-rayed my foot, and said, “you have a heel spur, and an aroma”.

Huh?

He went on to explain the treatment (part of which included a rather painful cortisone shot in the heel!), but I had to ask him again… “I have a heel spur and what”?

“An aroma” he says.

I’m feeling pretty embarrassed about that time.  I asked him, “what do you mean I have an aroma”?

He looks up, laughs, and says… “not an aroma, a neuroma!”

Good grief.  It’s nice to know my feet don’t smell anyway.

Will you need surgery?
A friend had her "aroma" taken off twice. ouch
Her job, teaching, demands standing and walking so that was no choice. The shot in time should make your foot better for a few months. Sandy

My heel spur went away when I started wearing shoes all of the time. Flip flops mostly. The "aroma" though....cortisone is great! Crocs and Fit Flops are my faves. Hope they are feeling better soon:)

LOL - just had to laugh at that one - sometimes the doctors just aren't very clear are they. Ouch to the shot - I have had those in the hips and an elbow - not pleasant at all. I will need to get his name from you - I think I need some shoe inserts or something for my feet and will check in to that when we get back from our trip.

LOL! I'm glad your feet don't smell, CJ! As for the cortizone shot, I had one of those a couple of times in a toe. It's not giggle-time, but it's bearable, and it's over pretty quickly. Good luck! :)

No fun for sure. I had plantar faciitis one year when I was teaching and believe me, I thought long and hard about the trip allll the way down the hall to the bathroom. Thank goodness it went away with exercises and Dansko clogs. Hope the icky shot keeps you pain free!
