Ruler Junkie
Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11:44AM Yep, I admit it, I love rulers, I have tons of them hanging on my pegboard! Yesterday I had stopped at Hobby Lobby to pick up a new fine point icing tip for the laser on my longarm… I forgot to take the one off my HQ16 when I sold it, and I’ve been forgetting ever since to replace it!
I saw this new ruler by June Tailor that had to come home with me! Where has it been all my quilting life? Before getting my AccuQuilt Studio, I loved my June Tailor Shapecuts rulers… this is the same method, quite awesome!
I have the center completed on a 2nd baby quilt like the first, but in pinks. Not solids… I like the solids much better.
I probably won’t get any more sewing done this weekend, as Jim will be coming home tonight, then back out again on Monday. Today I thought I’d better clean the house, I’ve ignored it completely while he was gone!

I love that ruler--it is so cool and pretty easy to use too.
So where do you put the fine point icing tip? How do you attach it to the laser?

My favorite ruler that I have is one I won this past Christmas from the Designer blog hop. It is an OLFA frosted ruler, size 6 × 12.
I thought what on earth can a "frosted" ruler offer. I've NEVER used a better ruler- ever, for both lights and darks.
I probably would have never even tried one if I had not been fortunate to win one.
I KNOW I will have more of this type.
I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday with DD. I love when they have their gadgets 50% off.
What is a point icing tip?
So, whatcha cooking for Jim for dinner????
CJ, You are an enabler! Now I just have to have that ruler. And I thought I had almost every ruler under the sun--even a very old Nancy Crow ruler that was marked wrong. And you know that once you have a new favorite ruler, you have to have all the rulers of that type or you risk miss-measuring. I'll never get rich this way. Oh well, I'd rather spend it on things I like that at a Nursing Home.
I wondered what you use a frosting tip for in machine quilting - I really need to check out your machine sometime and have you demonstrate for me so I can see what you are doing! I am totally ignorant when it comes to machine quilting.

Now I am well and truly impressed. Wilton probably has no idea there are alternate uses for icing tips. Who would've thunk it?
Can't wait to see the next quilt in girly colors.
Have fun.
I need that ruler!!!!
