Splash!

I have to tell you, I really struggled with what to quilt my baby quilt with. (I struggle with every quilt!) At first, I’d planned to fill the large white centers with applique or embroidery. But when I saw the quilt with the borders on, I knew I didn’t want to compete with them, they make the quilt!
Then I thought I might make this into a wallhanging for my sewing room, and
contemplated custom quilting it. Several people wrote me and suggested feather wreaths in the white centers, but that’s really not my taste. Funny, I love traditional piecing, but I’m not overly keen on that “heirloom quilting” look. And I truly do love the look of edge to edge quilting!
I loaded it up on my frame, played with stencils, played around with “air tracing” (that’s kind of like playing an air guitar, but it’s “air quilting” instead, hahaha!) some of my Quiltazoid templates… dug through all my pantos (ordered a handful of new ones… and finally settled on “Splash” by Jodi Beamish.
I’ve only used this panto once before, when I made my new grandson (he came into the family at the age of 7) a quilt for Christmas last year. I really like it then, and loved it even more on this quilt.
I’d hoped to get this quilted and bound today, as I’ll be gone all day tomorrow and most of Thursday as well, but it didn’t happen!
Make sure to check out my pantograph library, for new additions!

it turned out really well. You might struggle with deciding what quilting pattern to use but we all do that I think. You are lucky in that you have so many panto's to chose from.

It looks wonderful! Perfect choice! Nice panto design!
Splash was a great choice! The struggling gets easier. In the beginning, I remember spending more time deciding on a quilting design than it took to make the quilt. Nowadays, I mostly have a quilting plan in mind by the time I'm finished designing the top; Your whole quilt looks fantastic!
Oh, CJ, it's outstanding! What a beautiful and memorable quilt you designed and created. Good job, YOU!
I cannot remember, CJ, is this the first quilt you have totally designed yourself? If so, you should keep it for yourself as a "memory".
It turned out great! I went and looked at all of your pantographs. Oh my! How does one choose?? I think I will let you handle that when I finally send you a quilt top. ;)
Looks really good, CJ! I wish there were a way to do pantographs on my 630. :)
CJ - just lovely! nicely done. claudia
Nice job on choosing a quilting design, I think it works well. The border really sets off the quilt.
CJ, your quilt is beautiful. Calming and serene in color and pattern but the panto adds a flowing, like a melody. Keep it. You can always duplicate the original. Add a classy lilttle label on the back with your logo.
Have fun.
I really like it and I think Splash was the perfect choice.

It's gorgeous!!
Another successful venture. I just love the pantos you use.
Your quilt is just perfect! What a great little border, can't wait to see the next creation.
Splash looks perfect. I looked at your pantograph library. You such a great variety. If I ever get around to doing any quilt top making, I know where to send it & I will!

That is a nice pantogram.
