Still here!

Sorry I haven’t been posting. I’ve been busy setting up the new laptop with my software and trying to get it setup so it’s functional for me.  Having been off Windows for the past two years, it feels a bit strange.

I love my Mac, OS X is such a wonderful operating system, and the built ins… what a terrific example of pure functionality.

But oh my, Windows software is like going home!  I have missed Outlook like crazy!  I downloaded the Office 2010 Beta suite and (ooooh, did I mention OneNote?  We all know what a OneNote fanatic I once was!) the new revision of Outlook is very nicely done.

I am going to enjoy having both a Windows and a Mac computer, and see when I am using them both daily, which I truly prefer.  The nice thing about my Mac is that after two years, it feels no different than the day I bought it.  Whereas my Windows machines always seem to slow down and become sluggish.

While installing my sewing software (I had one remaining activation for EQ6, whew!  I will be so glad when EQ7 is here!) I discovered that I’ve misplace my Bernina embroidery software CD, and had to request a replacement.  I’ve no doubt as soon as a replacement arrives, I’ll locate the original.

I have yet to install a different browser on the laptop, and so I’m using Internet Explorer at the moment.  OMG!  My website looks terrible in yet!  I may be redoing it soon!

Sounds like you're having fun playing - but just not with fabrics - with another new toy. Good for you.

I have sewn so little in the last several weeks, that I'm now going through withdrawal - I need a fix SOON!!!

You'll get it all together quickly, I am sure. I was looking at your visitors on the sidebar and one of them had your website abbreviated as "From my Stud". It took a minute and a 2nd look to figure that one out. lol

I do the same thing CJ. Switching. I like my new iMac desktop, but keep my smaller Dell laptop for all my sewing stuff because I refuse to partition off my iMac. The new Windows 7 is nice though compared to the other Win. programs. It's very close --but, not quite like Leopard. If all my embroidery stuff and EQ were mac compatible, there wouldn't be a choice though---I have definitely become one of those Mac people I always heard about. <grin>

All these necessary toys sure do take a bit of time. I've been keeping my computer humming looking at all the videos on the 830 and I'm so glad they're out there. I'm learning tons. Also appreciate your info--the blog about the gears you shared on the list today was very helpful and I know I'll need it sometime in the future and be so grateful to you.
