The weird things people eat...

Check out this bag!  I LOVE this!  I may have to order this pattern, I don’t have an overnight bag and I really like this one! No hard to find items either!

But more about food…

Jim and I received an email from his son, who is down in the southern tip of Mexico on a summer work program (first year med student).

He writes, “The food is amazing here, too.  I had an awesome mango treat: a mango on a stick covered in salt, lime juice and tobacco powder.”

Tobacco powder?  For real? !!!  Eep!  I could feel Jim shudder half way across the room, as he’s deathly allergic to mangos to being with.

I did get my quilt bound and all washed yesterday!  It’s finally been laid to rest.  LOL

I've seen this one before. It's a beauty, isn't it?

I'm LOL at your last statement on this post. May it rest in "piece"(s).

You and Jim have a wonderful weekend. Any plans for the extended time?

Lovely bag, looks like a lot of work!
I did make Butler's Birdie Sling bag and used her home dec fabric and the Pellon interfacing recommended (wonderful interfacing!) on the pattern. Good luck if you decide to do it, but then you have the 830!

Mango with tobacco on a stick! Eat or smoke it! Road food to go......

I love mangos! Ate them by the bushelk when I was pregnant with my older son...to this day his favorite fruit is mangos!! :-) Our shop taught that bag as a class... LOTS of WORK! Polly

"Laid to rest?" You didn't bury the quilt did you? LOL
The Warp and Woof in Conway would be a great place to get some fabric for that bag. Or better yet just quilt up a fun cotton print. I love all the piping on the bag too.
Have fun.

I made this bag and use it all the time! It's fun to make and Amy Butler's directions are always good. Have fun!

Please do this bag and show a blow by blow of how to's. I'd love to do a bag like this but I did the computer bag and it would have been hard if I hadn't done it in class. There's some tricky parts. I'd think this would be the same. It's kind of awkward cramming all that fabric/batting/pellon/lining all under the foot. But I know you'd find an easy out to make this doable, so I hope you do it.
I love all tropical fruit but it does taste much better the closer to the equator you get. It's much sweeter.

Well, I thought the mango sounded pretty good until you added the tobacco. I can't imagine!

I have made this bag too! With all the layers, manipulating it under the machine was work. I love Amy Butler patterns because she is meticulous and thorough in the directions.

Maybe it was a typo and he meant tabasco? It's only 1 letter off and that combination actually sounds good!
