The missing yardage for the binding! Too bad I apparantly chose the same fabric as the backing, I think the black/brown fabric that’s in the borders would have been a much nicer choice, but that’s okay! It looks like I bought plenty of it too, there’s a six inch circle of binding here, which I spent the morning making.
With any luck, maybe I can get it bound today and in the washing machine!
That would just make my day! I’m curious to see how the quilt borders perform, with the extreme amount of starching and steaming I did to shrink them down. We’ll see how it hangs after all that!
You may notice my roll of binding on the shelf of my sewing cabinet, near the floor on the right? After all your suggestions, I think I’m going to have Jim install a dowel right there, and I will starting winding my binding on a tube, and let it feed off the dowel… I think it will work great!
Tomorrow I really need to do some housework. On Saturday, Jim and I are running up to Missouri to pick up more of Jim’s shop equipment. We’ll be hauling it back in our old livestock trailer, which has been sitting for six years. My folks said the tires look okay to make the trip… let’s hope so because the equipment weighs thousands of pounds, I’d sure hate to have a blowout with that heavy load on those twisty roads we will be driving on.
I guess then we’ll have a livestock trailer to sell…. I don’t think we’ll be farming anymore!

Sounds like you and Jim are pretty much settling in where you're at.
Drive safely!
That's a great idea!! Very clever indeed!! :-)
a dowel under the table for the binding is a great idea. Have a fun trip and hope the tires hold up.

Ooo, clean house. I love a clean house, but I sure hate clearning it. :-(
Have a fun and safe trip!
Like the new look of the site. Clean fresh and easy to read. Just my kind of blog.
Hi, I put the roll of binding on my knee lift lever. Nothing fancy
