Design Wall Monday

Since I have to wait on more fabric to finish the lone star, I thought I’d try and catch up on the pinwheel party blocks. Today I finished block nine, and block twelve will be out today, so just three more to go.

Of course silly me, I jumped into this not considering I’d need border fabrics.  I had plenty of fat quarters to do the blocks, but nothing for borders.  I may be on the hunt for fabric to finish this one up as well soon!

If I get any more blocks done today, I’ll add pictures.

I went to the dentist this morning, as I thought I had a cavity, and several of my teeth have been throbbing, so I had them take x-rays, and not a cavity to be found.  So why does my tooth hurt?  The dentist thought I might have a small fracture in the tooth, but he couldn’t find it and didn’t want to crown it until he could see a problem.

We had a deer come visit last night that wreaked total havoc in our orchard, our cherry trees are stripped of all lower branches and most of the leaves further up!  I’m just sick, I hope they live.

I'm so sorry your trees got hit. I joke that Disney did country people a huge injustice with "Bambi". Deer are actually just rodents with a good press agent! They cause huge amounts of destruction, and deer/motor vehicle collisions kill quite a few people every year in my state.

I think these pinwheels are so fun!! I was behind 4 this weekend but really like to cut at least 20 or 3 at a time so the other 2 are cut and 2 are pieced. I have had a ball doing this-trying to decide if I want to make this bigger or just go for it as it is.

Great pinwheels.

If your tooth is on the upper arch it could be your sinuses bother you. Lets hope!

Between the deer, the rabbits and the mice in the winter it can be hard to keep fruit trees alive. We've found the deer like green strawberries too. I'm thinking there's plenty of room in the freezer now for more venison, OR, I love venison jerky. Too bad the weather's getting to warm to hang 'em in the garage to cool.

every now and then I will have a tooth or two hurt and nothing is wrong either - if you have a sore in your mouth though it can cause teeth to hurt. I have a cleaning due tomorrow - hope he doesn't find anything wrong, haven't had any work done on my teeth other than cleaning for going on 8 years.

Don't know what to tell you about the deer - so far they have left all of our trees alone - but we have no fruit trees, maybe they are partial to them?

Oh CJ, too bad about the orchard. I know you both have put a lot of work into them. Hopefully your trees will survive.

Maybe you are grinding or clenching your teeth when sleeping or concentrating. I do that sometimes when under stress. Sometimes orthodontia can help if the grinding is due to a bad "bite" (the way your upper and lower jaw fit together). But orthodontia is as much an art as a science and it seems a drastic step if you don't need it otherwise. If the tooth ache persists, your dentist can make you a customized 'bite plate' to wear at night. It helps a lot. claudia

Way to go, CJ.

I love your pinwheels.
I am 5 blocks behind 'cause of wedding gown construction. Dress should be done by the end of this week & I can rejoin the party! I miss piecing.
I never thought of border fabric either. I just dug out my fat qtrs--ho hum, guess we'll both be looking!

I love your pinwheels.

I have had my sinuses bother the teeth in my lower jaw as well as the upper jaw. My doctor said that the nerves in your sinuses reach down into your jaw area and that was what caused the teeth pain.

My teeth have been hurting off and on because of clenching. I don't want to mess with the appliance you wear at night, but I may have to someday!

I really love the Lone Star. I can't believe how many pieces you needed to put together. I am also collecting the pinwheel block directions and plan to work on them this summer...oops that is next month!

Well, I'm twelve behind, but who's counting??

We have bunnies, deer, the occasional elk, and partying coyotes. They love to howl and carry on about bedtime (and eat the neighbors' cats). Life in the country can be harrowing. Hope your trees survive.

Can't wait to see the pinwheel quilt all together!

My teeth hurt like yours too, and the new Listerine has really helped. I grind my teeth sometimes too, and hated the mouthpiece until they finally made one that was more like those clear braces that are out.

Sorry to hear about the deer problem. We don't have them in the Valley, but they can be pests in Flagstaff.
