I think my brains cells are misfiring...

In yesterdays post, I shared a table runner I was making where I flipped one of the borders around accidentally.  I have been having this problem with every single thing I work on lately, and I am truly wondering if I am having some sort of issue!

I was so excited yesterday, having started a second table runner for my Mom… and I didn’t flip the borders!  I am making hers a little bit bigger.

This morning I started putting on the second border… and that’s when I realized I had indeed, flipped something!

See what I did this time?  Is this crazy or what?

I’m having problems plugging things in too, something that’s been bugging me for a couple of months.  Polarized plugs?  I look at them, make sure they’re turned the right way, then go to plug the item in and sure enough, it’s backwards.  HDMI plug?  USB?  Yep, I flip them up wrong every time.

I had to write a check yesterday, and found myself writing the second word and coming back to write the first.  I swear, menopause is going to kill me.  LOL

I'm loving the color combinations that you've chosen, CJ. This pattern is so eye catching, I'm really liking it.

I do see the difference in the borders but I honestly believe that this isn't as obvious as the first tablerunner.

I am always so glad when others show or tell of mistakes they make! At least I'm not the only one! Welcome to getting older!

I swear menopause does crazy things to us!! Between that and medication that I use to keep a disease and a disorder under control I have lost my short term memory!! I have to make a list constantly to remember things.
I didn't even notice the mistake in the one you posted the other day I looked after I read your post and couldn't find it - today's I noticed. I went back and looked at the other other one and then spotted it right off. You are not alone - I do these kinds of mistakes all the time!!

This is what's been happening with my cooking lately. I inevitably leave something out. You're not alone.

Beautiful tablerunners! Both of them. 630 0r 830 this time?
Oh, I see you can still put a sentence together, so don't despair.

You can be thankful you noticed the errors before the items were quilted and bound. Now that is frustrating to not notice until the item is finished (ask me how I know).

Don't give up, your work is beautiful.

I agree, menopause is the pits.

I like to think that our brains are on overload and can't help but misfire every so often. i make the same kinds of mistakes and have for years. i am much older than you!

You're right, you need a design board. Actually it could be something in the air because I have been piecing some blocks after putting 18 blocks together wrong I simply refuse to un-sew. So far everything has been correctable, but the top isn't finished yet.
Have fun.

PS - I have to have printouts and notes all around my workspace and still these things happen.

I am having the same problem with my pieced borders. Today I took out I don't know how many different pieces because I kept turning them around. And of course, it wasn't all at the same time. I would fix one, sew a little more, and then have to go back and fix another. My typing is getting awful also. Maybe our fingers and bodies can't keep up with our minds anymore.

CJ, You've heard of not being able to see the forest for the trees. Just walk away for a few minutes BEFORE you sew it together. You'll be amazed what you pick up. I like it.
