Table runner with the AccuQuilt

Today I made a table runner for our little dining table.  Mostly made it… it’s not quilted yet!  This was cut with my AccuQuilt, using the “Triangles in a Square” dies, and the strip cutters.  I think I’ve been on color overload, and needed to get back to my browns and blacks… they soothe me.

By the way, AccuQuilt replaced my wonky 3 1/2 inch block, and the new one works perfectly.

This pattern is is available on the AccuQuilt website. I added the black border, but otherwise didn’t deviate from the pattern.  No perfect points here, even with the die cuts!  I did sew this on my Bernina 630… I think I am going to make another one and sew it on my Bernina 830 with the dual feed, for a comparison.

My camcorder arrived today.  I played with it a bit and was going to do a demonstration of the dies I used on this quilt, but discovered it will be a little learning curve to making a video… and OMG where did that southern drawl in my voice come from?  I haven’t heard myself recorded in YEARS… and last time I did, I still had a hint of a midwest drawl left from my early childhood in the suburbs of Chicago.  It’s GONE now.  I sound like a southerner.

I think it looks great! I think it's interesting how we each prefer different colors because of how e feel around them! Polly
P.S. Menopause has alwasy altered how well I sleep and consequently how well I then do everything else! Getting old sucks!

Well, the table runner looks fine to me - but I'm in that same phase of menopause, so I have no credibility! I'm glad others share the same maladies (I thought it was just me) - I spend more time with my seam ripper lately....

I've always wanted an AccuQuilt cutter, I'm so envious!

I love your table runner. Quite curious on what the issues are with your points with AccuQuilt. I've not seen any issues on my end. Did you cut on the straight of grain? Hymm. Very curious. But again, it looks lovely.

Very nice, CJ!

I can't see anything wrong from my view...oh, wait..that was an April Fool's joke, right?

Hi CJ...have an embroidery tension question. I am about to embroider a design on my 830 and I know I should start out with the upper(?) tension adjusted. What do you suggest I try? It's probably a ball park suggestion, but it would start me out in the right direction. I'm using Metrolene in the bobbin and Isacord on the top. Thanks for your suggestions. Pam

I think it looks great! I didn't notice it until you pointed it out in your update. I've done that as well before. I just ordered the accuquilt, I can't wait to try it out.

For what its worth, I was piecing a quilt Wednesday and actually sewed a strip with both fabrics right side up. Seriously. Guess we get caught in the creative moment, either that or an extremely short attention span. ;)
Your runneris very pretty and will look great when you are done.
Have fun.

PS - I firmly believe women are the most chemically complex creatures on earth. Chocolate helps.

I had to look twice before I saw it. I like this runner very much. I use a lot of color in my quilts but I wear a lot of black and brown. So, I probably need to make me a quilt with blacks and browns to soothe me.

Thanks for the tip on the memory card. I don't think it has anything on it but I will check again before I go up to Fort Smith.

Now you're back to colors that ease my eyes. LOL

I sort of was waiting to see if anyone noticed the long borders weren't on the same. I was going to email you personally and see if that's what you meant to do.

The longer you're working with the Accuquilt, are you liking it better or "still reserving judgement"?

Well, I didn't notice either. :-) Apparently we're all in the same boat, so you're surrounded by understanding friends. :-) Love the runner!
It is indeed your style. Classy.

I remember finding a big mistake on a couple of blocks on a scrappy quilt I made. I found it only after taking a picture of it and putting it on my blog. Funny how you can look at something for such a long time and think it's right.

I am glad you got a correct 3 1/2 accuquilt cutter, yeah!
