Finished in time!

Woohoo!  I made it in time to take to my guild meeting on Thursday.  As you can see, I tried to take pictures outside so the colors would show true, but alas it was too windy today, and it’s supposed to rain tomorrow, so this one and couple of indoor shots will have to suffice for now.

I have to finish the sleeve, but otherwise, all done!

When I set out to make this quilt, part of the reason I wanted to make it was because I had a specific quilting motif in mind, a very pretty oriental type design.  However, just as I was getting ready to start on it, I called Jim in to have a peek, and told him I thought this design would look better, and he agreed, so there you have, once again I changed my mind at the last minute.

The quilting doesn’t show well at all in either of these photos.  I used a variegated King Tut thread on top, and So Fine in the bobbin, in a medium blue… which actually looks more like lavender against the purplish backing, but trust me, it’s blue.

Thanks so much everyone for the border suggestions.  I had already purchased enough of the focus fabric for the binding, so I ended up adding another border in black, and I think it worked out just fine.

So… do you think I can talk myself into whipping out that turtle pincushion that I was supposed to be working on for a guild challenge?  I’m so not in the mood…

I have two more quilt tops waiting to be quilted!

Oh my! It's wonderful!! And the perfect quilting motif. How fun to have it to share at the meeting, and I know Jim must absolutely love it. Hope you're feeling better. I think I'm dizzy half the time--have to remind myself to breathe in and out. Too many years living the life of a stressed teacher. We women sure have crazy bodies!!

Cj, please don't laugh, but I like the back even better than the front. That quilting is the bomb! I saved a pic of it so I can try it at some point. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT.

Beautiful!
I'm so impressed and also, you quickly finished that binding. Is it by machine?
