It's huge!

Okay I did get the measurements for the AccuQuilt Studio before I ordered, thinking it would fit quite nicely on one half of my cutting table, which is a 3’ x 6’ banquet table with a made to fit cutting mat on it… but I didn’t allow space for the extra jumbo tray, which is what the strip boards use.  Oops.

I had to take over a bit of my sweetie’s office space for the moment, and use his filing cabinet to set the Studio on.  The overall foot print then, is bigger than I anticipated, but certainly doable.

You do have to do a bit of assembly, but it’s quick and easy.  I have all the strip dies standing on end right below the tray there, so you can’t see them, but I took a picture of the smaller dies I bought.  These are the 8 inch and 12 inch block sets.  I had it in my head that these would be 2 dies, with all the random shapes on one board to make various blocks.

As you can see, instead each die consists of a single block (dog ears already removed!).

The advantage to buying a block “set” as I did, is that you have a lot of various shapes to start with right away, instead of purchasing individual die sets at a much higher cost.  The disadvantage is that there is just one shape on the die… versus buying a 5 inch square die with 4 shapes on it, which of course would speed up the cutting process.

My flower die got left out, so I called AccuQuilt and they were great, and are shipping it out today.

Nope, I haven’t tried anything yet.

I'm sending my fabric to you to cut before I start any new projects lololol. I have eyed one of these for a few months now, but have feared that there would be allot of wasted fabric after it was cut, but I can see now where there wouldn't be.

I'm envious. But I am not really doing quilting yet. I am itching to & have always loved quilts. I have all the books, patterns & enough fabric to quilt the square footage of my house, or maybe twice. My hope is to merge my machine embroidery into the quilting world. Procrastination is my enemy.

So, you have taken over two bedrooms and the garage and now a bit of the office. Bet Jim is glad he has a nice big shop. :D
The cutting machine looks very cool and bet you'll have tons of fun using it. Enjoy!
Have fun.
