Why I love Bernina!

Well other than the fact that they make such terrific machines I mean.  I love Bernina because they have the absolute best team of talented individuals working for them!  The Bernina 830 does everything one could possibly imagine, but some of us have bigger imaginations than we should…

We can save customized sewing settings to a “personal program’, and name these saved settings whatever we want.  Like “Piecing”.  The dual feed is amazing, truly, but I also still always reduce my presser foot pressure when piecing quilt blocks.  Only sometime, I stitch for a minute before I remember to reduce it.  So I emailed Boris Zickenberg, the head software engineer back in Switzerland, and explained to him why I really needed this setting to be able to be saved to my personal program… because I’m not bright enough to remember on my own!

Guess what?  He’s going to implement it!  How COOL is that!

I think Boris is kind of like Steve Jobs.  He comes up with the most amazing technology that I just can’t live without!  I’m waiting for him and Mr. Jobs to collaborate and give us the iBernina!

Can anyone guess what GREAT BIG BOX is arriving at my house tomorrow?  I’ll give you a hint… her name is Millie!

Nothing has been able to touch the 830. It puts the 200/730's to shame with its capabilities. I do SO much with my 830 that it STILL amazes me.

I really believe you know if you have an immediate connection with a machine or not. I have felt that immediate connection with the 830 as I did with my 430 and 630. Nothing intimidates me about the 830 with its vast amount of capabilities.

Have I tried and failed at things? Of course I have - but I truly believe if I try and fail - and THEN - realize what I've done wrong - I won't do the same mistake again.

Anyone that gets everything the first time is a genious and I'm certainly not one of those.

I absolutely feel that I'm fortunate to have the "best" of Bernina - the 430, the 630 and the 830. I was actually GLAD to get rid of my fully upgraded 200/730. It never pieced near as neat as any of my other Berninas. My Aurora 430 is the cheapest of the three machines and she purrs beautifully.

And all that being said, I feel I have the best tech (although I'm sure there are other great Bernina techs as well). The service where I got all my machines is wonderful and there is never a question about whether or not the tech has an answer. Because if he doesn't know - he'll find out---immediately and then phone me immediately.

Right now my 34D foot is cracked - but still it's still "hanging" on. I was told next time I'm at the shop, they'll just trade out feet.

Am I spoiled? Damn right, I am and I waited alot of years to get that way....LOL

Have fun with your new Millenium. You're are going to have lots of fun! I used to own a mille an loved it, but sold it when I thought I was getting out of longarming, ha ha. When I got back into longarming a few years ago I got the the Statler this time cuz I wanted the computer and love it too! I test drove the new Mille at the Road to Ca Quilt show and the new features are great!

The 830 sounds so neat. Maybe someday!!

Forget my email. I know when now when you Millennium is arriving! How nice that Bernina listens. Think if I wrote them and asked for a brand new 1230, just exactly like my 20+ year old machine, they would listen?
If you need me tomorrow (or any time really) call on the cell phone. Most of the day I'll be in class but will check messages and get back with you if you need me.

Sign me up for an iBernina!!! I have loved my Macs for twenty years! And I don't know what I would do without my iPhone. And although my current sewing/embroidery machine is a Brother. I would give my first born for an iBernina! Well, maybe my second born he's 4 and has been a terror all day.
