Will the longarm fit in the RV?  LOL

I had set my deadline for quilts at December 15th this year, to be done so I could have time to enjoy the holidays with Jim.  He normally takes off the last two weeks of December and the first week of January. I’m not sure how much time he’s going to be able to take off this year, but either way my plans had to change, as I guess we are now headed to New Orleans for a week next weekend with the RV.

We’ll be leaving it down there and coming home for the holidays, then back up in January.  So I have to finish everything this week!  Jim’s new bathrobe is next on my list.  I found the most gorgeous chocolate brown marbled fleece for it.

Yesterday, I got my garlic planted finally, and knocked out a customer quilt.  This one has large blocks with hand cross stitched stars in them.  I had recommended it to be custom quilted, but the customer wanted a pantograph on it, and it turned out quite nice!

The panto used on this quilt is “Fay Feathers” by Lorien Quilting.

I tried a new recipe yesterday, Cranberry Pumpkin bread.  It’s good, but needs work.  The pumpkin part isn’t spicy enough, the cranberries are too tart, and that was after I already doubled most of the spices and added more sugar, vanilla, salt, nuts… and well you get the picture.  By the time I’m done, it doesn’t much resemble the original recipe.

I have to let the flavors roll around on my tongue some more today.  The joys of being the chef eh?  I think this would be much better made with dried cranberries, soaked in port wine, and I think I will try it again that way. If I perfect it, I’ll share!

Meanwhile, I think I need to make some chocolate date bread, yum yum!

you will be busy this week packing up the camper . Which of your machines will you be packing and bring with you - I do not envy you getting ready for your trip and staying in New Orleans for awhile - I would be making lists after lists of what I needed to put in the camper for every day living. So many things to bring along when your hobbies are cooking and quilting.

You will need to see some of the gardens and plantations while you are there - so many pretty places to tour though.

Beautiful quilt! I really like the swirling feathers. I love the combination of red and white.

I know you'll enjoy your trip. Every day last week, my favorite soap, "The Young and the Restless," featured scenes shot in New Orleans. Made me want to go there, too. Have a safe trip!

One of my favorite pantos and it turned out fabulous. is that flannel on the back? I wish I could get in the mood to bake, I barely want to cook dinner right now! :)

Have a great time in New Orleans.

The question is --if the long-arm fits will anything else fit? Like you & Jim. I suppose you could fly/drive home to use it periodically. Enjoy New Orleans--it sounds fabulous. Diane in CT

Quit it!!!! You're killing my waist. I had to buy a larger size jean. I said I'd never do that. I'm trying to wean off sugar. I did buy the fruit you suggested for the fruitcake yesterday. Now I need the brandy. All I have is port. Judy has your cake tempting everyone. Have fun in NOLA.
