Dang it!

So close to having the next pillow finished, and it has to be fixed! I noticed after (of course) assembling the various blocks that make the front of the pillow, that not only was my black plaid cut crooked, the tension was off on this piece too!
I must have not threaded the the bobbin for embroidery when I changed colors, because it looks awful! The bobbin thread is pulled to the top. How is it that I didn’t notice any of that until I assembled it?
By the time I correct my mistakes on each pillow, I’m not going to have enough fabric left to make them!
Somebody come slap me!
I guess it’s time to start cooking… bread to make, pizza crusts to make, dinners for the next few nights will be my apple pork curry served over rice, chicken parmesan with steamed broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes, and RD’s awesome ribeye steaks with creamy onion and bleu cheese sauce, asparagus and a crusty loaf of bread… lunches have escaped me. I guess I better bake more bread!

It's hard for me to tell that the tension is off in the photo but I see what you're saying about the plaid.
That's one thing as a seamstress first and a quilter second - that I've had to "accept".....that plaids don't have to "match" as they do (should) in garment construction. I still argue that plaids should be "striaght"...but who am I?
So you are getting some machine time in while you have company.
Have a good Tuesday.
You should publish a "favorites" cookbook!
Just slow down, C.J. and take a deep breath. You're trying to work too fast with visitors there and anxious about putting everything together. We've all been there and felt the pressure....and, that is when we make mistakes.
CJ,
I can't see anything wrong from the picture, the plaid is not a big deal to me. If you leave it will anyone really notice? Also, I agree with Marilyn, take your time, slow down and enjoy the process. If you don't get them ready in time, what's going to happen?
love your work!
Well, what I would do is this. Rip out the center section containing the plaid and heart. Cut the plaid so it is straight. It doesn't look like it would take much. Then trim the heart section to match and sew it back together. I can't see the problem with the tension?
CJ
Calm down! Just make one of your awesome soups in a slow cooker and forget it.
There are a lot of people in my life that never seem to bother making real soup but really appreciate it when I do.
Cheers from New Zealand.

Your pillow is going to be so beautiful. I wouldn't have realized that the plaid is off if you would not have told me. Is your company arriving tomorrow?
I clicked and enlarged the pillow pic. And I sure can't see anything wrong with it. If it's a gift, I'm sure the recipient will not even notice any of the things you are concerned about.
I agree the pillow top looks great. But as someone who also tries to do things without errors, I can understand your disappointment. (But I can't see it in the photo.)
Your menu sounds wonderful. Too bad it is so far from Oregon to your house!
Waaaaaaay toooooo critical, girl! Would not have seen the plaid unless you told me...and don't see the thread thing at all from the pix! Just sew on the back, stuff and use! Gosh, I'd love to be your guests for all these wonderful meals! You ROCK, Chef CJ! You should write a cookbook!!
I agree that the plaid really is not noticeable - unless you point it out. I've touched up many bobbin threads showing with a sharpie permanent marker! Really, what I tell people is when you're doing lettering with black or really dark thread just wind a bobbin of the same or just a black bobbin. It ALWAYS looks good then. Life is too short to worry about the little things! Get the project done and move on!
Cheers!
It looks fine to me...............food sounds so delicious...
