A couple of months ago when I picked up the marbled chocolate fleece for Jim’s bathrobe that I made for Christmas, I also picked up some fleece for myself as well. Mine was on clearance, and probably most of you girls will hate it, but I absolutely loved it!
I showed Jim the fleece this morning and he wasn’t so sure about it either, but
when I finished the bathrobe, he loved it! It was too funny because I could see that he was wondering why I didn’t make him one as well! Hehehe.
It’s a sage green, with cream and brown plaid stripes on it.
I don’t think I’ll monogram mine, right now I’m feeling all embroidered out… but I may change my mind.
I have mixed reviews about the new KitchenAid. First off, I’m going to need a smaller bowl… I sure hope they make one for it, because if you try and cream two sticks of butter and some sugar, the flat beater just goes right over the top of it. I even adjusted the bowl height per the manual, no luck.
But the dough hook? Oh my the new style of that is much improved! I made cinnamon rolls today for Christmas morning. I froze a dozen of them and made the other six for Jim and I today, yum yum yum! Christmas Eve, I’ll take the frozen ones out of the freezer and thaw them overnight in the fridge, and they won’t take long to rise in the morning. Breakfast will be hot cinnamon rolls and ham, potato and cheese casserole.

I'm sure you'll get it figured out quickly. The cinnamon rolls sound yummy!
So what's the receipe for the casserole ? (hint hint!)
CJ, you should be able to cream two sticks of butter and some sugar in that bowl! It's true it sort of gets lost in the bottom, but I think it needs some more adjustment. I have complete confidence in your ability to do it, but my flat beater actually touches the bottom sometimes. In fact, yesterday I was thinking about adjusting it UP a bit. I encourage you to play with it again when you have a chance.
Oh, and I love the robe -- the colors sound wonderful!
I like the robe - where do you get your fleece? Jim will like his too. I have a big fluffy robe that I bought several years ago at Christmas time from Bath and Body - a nice big fluffy something - truthfully I'm not sure what the fabric is - sure is comfy and warm though. They don't normally sell robes but at holiday time they add some special gifts.
The cinnamon rolls sounds divine!

Your robe is pretty! Where do you buy your fleece? Also, do you have a Cinnamon roll recipe? I looked in your recipe file, but didn't see it. Maybe my eyes are tired tonight. I ordered one of those new bowl side swipe blades from Amazon for my new Kitchenaide. Maybe there is some adjustment for your new Kitchenaide so that the blade touches the bottom better. Gosh I hope so.
That is a beautiful robe. And the cinnamon rolls sound wonderful. I like the menu for Christmas morning.
Thank you for yor site and all the things you treat us to - your excellent writing, photos, recipes and inspiration.
Merry Christmas to you and Jim.
hmmmm...cinnamon buns...how long is a flight to your house????
Hmm, I make 2 sticks of butter cookie recipes in mine all the time and have no trouble. And you're right--for bread, it's wonderful!!!
Ooops!! Forgot to say, love the robe, too!! I'm with you on the fabric. I'm not much for pink or frilly. Cozy is what I'm after!
Merry Christmas!!
