One... two... three...

And now I’m DONE with the bad run of luck right?  Talk about a stressful, expensive week!  First the theft of the tractor trailer, then the dishwasher quit, and yesterday Jim and I were involved in a hit and run!

In my brand new Magster no less!  I could just cry!  We were on our way back from Little Rock and had just pulled off of the interstate when some idiot came flying down the off ramp smack into us.  Jim hit his head on the steering wheel and I’m sore from below my shoulders up, but otherwise we are just fine.  But the two men in the pickup truck whipped around us and took off!

You didn’t think Jim and I would let that happen did you?  Heck no, we chased them.  I thought we were going to lose them, but we finally caught up to them.  I called the police on the cell phone and read off the license plate number to them, and the dispatcher insisted we stop chasing them and pull over for assistance.  I wasn’t too pleased about that.  But imagine our surprise when the SUV behind us pulled over as well, and a big burly guy jumps out and says, “why the hell did you let em’ get away?  I was gonna help you kick some ass!”

That man totally made my day.  It isn’t very often that people are willing to stop and help someone anymore.  He gave us his name and number as a witness, and I’m going to see if I can track down his address and send him a box of Omaha steaks.

Since leaving the scene of an accident is now a felony charge, I don’t know if we’ll have to go to court over this or not, but I confess I’m a little worried that the hit and run driver will be given our names, could possibly track us down, and extract his revenge.  Okay I’m probably just paranoid.  No sleep and a week of mishaps will do that to a person!

Jim’s flying out today for New Orleans, then directly to Washington D.C., and won’t be home until the end of the week.  I don’t believe I’m going to leave the house once!

I sure hope you're both alright!!! The dispatcher was probably right. If these guys were crazy enough to hit you the way they did, who knows what they would have down if you caught up with them. The father of a child in my husband's class a few years ago was shot and killed when confronted in a similar situation. The shooter was never caught. I'm glad there was someone there to back you up. How's the magster?

Good that you got the license plate number and hope the police can track down the truck. I hope you both aren't too sore now today. Nice that the person followed you guys and is a witness - was there much damage to the car? I wouldn't think the people will track you down - they will be in even trouble as it is.

I think after a week like you had I would stay at home too. And yes, it does seem like things happen in threes. That sickening feeling you have will go away in a few days, but you sure feel yucky for awhile.

Thank goodness you were not hurt! And it's good you got the license plate and great that you have a nice witness, but was smart not to confront... you never know how psycho some people in trouble can be. Better safe than sorry! They are now in deep sh_ _...ummm, I mean, yogurt! Hope you are not too sore today and this week to sew!! I love when I'm at home alone for a while and can cook what and even IF I want and do whatever I want !! Have a great week!!

OMG! When it rains, it pours! I hope you are ok today! Hope they catch the little b word and your friend in the SUV gets a crack at him. I would stay home too, probably huddled in a dark corner cringing at every sound. Hope your black cloud has moved on.

The same thing happen to my son except in more traffic, he was going through an intersection and an elderly guy ran a stop sign and plowed into him, knock him around so he's going the opposite direction. He gets his wits about what happen, gets out of the truck and expects to speak to the guy and he takes off. A guy two vehickles back did a u turn and went after him calling the police on cell phone they picked up the chase and arrested him by the time my son could notify the police, in fact the dispatcher said what color car he said red, well we have him. In all the reports he received there was no names involved, he did have insurance but they will probably total out his almost new truck. No one was hurt as far as we know just jerked around. This all took place after a stressful day at work. So I don't think you have anything to worry about over names. They did tell my son the guys first name and telephone no. so he could thank him.

Uffda!
That is terrible, at least no broken bones, etc.
Hopefully, your run of bad luck is over.
Time to install a burglar alarm, etc. system.

Wow, you certainly have had a run of bad luck, more than your share.
It's probably just as well you couldn't confront the guys in the truck. Who knows what they were on. I also commend the guy in the SUV behind you for being willing to help & being willing to come forward as a witness. I really hope the guys in the truck get to cool their heels in jail for a while and have to pay for the damage to your poor little Magster, irresponsible idiots that they are.

OMG! I also can't believe that happened to you. I'm so glad you were able to get their license number and I do hope they are prosecuted. I hope y'all are both ok.

I am glad you both are ok. Relax this week and do something fun. I hope the police catch them.

That's awful CJ. I agree with the other that it was smart to pull over after you reported the accident. I have seen some crazy behavior lately on the road and suspect some substance abuse is involved.

Glad you and Jim are OK. Enjoy your week at home.

OMG, what's with people anyway? Hope they are caught and get punished to the full extent. Hope you are both going to be OK. You've had all your bad luck, so now it can be nothing but good, right?!!!!!
