Season's Greeting finished

I finished stitching out the last word, “Faith” onto my little wall hanging last night, and sewed down the binding.

I’m happy with the way it turned out, although I had a terrible time cutting out the letters for “faith” with the cutwork tool, as some of the sections are barely an eight of an inch wide and simply wanted to disintegrate on me.  I ended up cutting them twice, the second time with fusible polymesh fused to the fabric first, which held it together… barely!  The rest of the words were no problem at all.

The directions Amanda gave for this had you assemble the quilt top first, with the intent that the stitching around the letters would provide the quilting.  Next time, I will leave the backing fabric off and add it as a false backing after the appliqué is finished, as there is no way my back is presentable.  Since it’s going to be a wall hanging, I won’t worry about it, but if anyone else is making this… don’t add your backing until you’re done.  Of course I used a heavy candlewicking type stitch, not the blanket appliqué called for, so it might be just fine if you follow directions… I never do!

I added my Cranberry Chutney recipe in the recipe section.

I ABOLUTELY LOVE this one, CJ.

I wonder if the webinar is still available. I'll have to check.

I'd do this immediately - that's how much I like it.

Happy weekend with Jim.

Been missing you.

I like it!!! I think the candlewick stitching gives it that extra "pop". I'm going to be doing some applique on the quilt I'm working on, you have inspired me to think outside the box, so I'm going to practice on some scrap and see which stitch I like best. XD

I was curious about which stabilizer you used in the hoop on this one CJ?

Heavy weight tear away in the hoop, fusible polymesh on the fabric, plus Shades Softfuse on the back of that.

I'm just wondering where you had gotten the fonts for this fabulous quilt.
Are the directions still available?
Thank you so much for sharing!
