Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year… it takes place during my cherished fall season, and it’s a time of reflection for me, when I can look back on my past and realize just how very fortunate I have been in my life.  I am grateful for many things, not the least of which is the joy I take in cooking for this holiday!

Since it will just be Jim and I this year, (he’s headed back from New Orleans this evening and will be in during the wee hours) I’m making a simple meal, but with some of our favorites.

Roast turkey, mashed potatoes (with roasted garlic, cream cheese and lots of butter!), dressing, rolls, cranberry chutney and kentucky bourbon pie.  I will post some of my recipes later in the week, along with the beef bourguignon that Pins and Needles requested.

Here’s my progress on the little wall hanging so far.  I had much better luck with the Bernina cutwork tool this time, the letters appliqued perfectly and I’m so tickled with it!  That’s really all I wanted it for, letters!  My placement on the other hand, isn’t so great, but oh well!

I definitely want to make this again, but I’ll go fabric shopping for it.  I really didn’t have much in my stash that was suitable.

I wish you all the most wonderful Thanksgiving!  May you be warm, your bellies full, and I hope that you are happy in life!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Jim. I'm glad Jim will be getting home before all of the cold weather starts. Your wall hanging is looking good.

CJ, I wish you & yours a blessed Thanksgiving. I, too, am grateful for all the blessings in my life. Some of which didn' exactly feel like blessings at the time, but now I know that they were lessons I needed to learn. I love to get your recipes. Again Happy Thanksgiving. Diane in CT

Happy Thanksgiving CJ! Seeing your post about the cutwork tool and watching most of the webinar made me see what this is all about! Does the cutter come with the software? Looks like the software is around $500? Very tempting. I do want those M&M wheels :-) This little Christmas project is very nice. Enjoy the day...we are having rain, yesterday and today, first time in weeks! (9" below normal)

Oh, CJ, that is gorgeous. Someday...far in the future...maybe I will be able to do that too...
Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to you & Jim! It is my favorite weekend also, the quiet before the storm & rush for Christmas, family home and good food, good fellowship!!

Happy Thanksgiving! I too have bought some fat quarters to make up that same wall hanging you are working on - not sure I'm going to be happy with what I chose. I did order some fabrics online as well so between the two groups surely I'll have something I like!! That was a wonderful webinar last Saturday on the software. Hope to try that tomorrow on my day off.
