The Flying Fish

Jim I absolutely adore the Flying Fish down on the riverfront in Little Rock. It’s an old converted garage, and the walls are covered in “fish stories”. People from all over send in their fish photos!
We always try and sit in a different booth whenever we go, so we can look at the
different photos.
What is amazing, is that the seafood here is every bit as good as what you get on the coast, although it should be as it’s fairly expensive to eat here (compared to average prices in our area) as lunch is usually around forty bucks for two, but oh my is it ever worth it! Of course that’s because we’re both bigs and get the 12 shrimp basket… yeah yeah. Oink, oink oink.
The shrimp is butterflied and breaded in a very light cornmeal batter. Normally I very much dislike breaded shrimp, as the breading overwhelms the delicate taste of the shrimp, but this is perfection! Oh and their tartar sauce… yummy!
I’ll post pictures of the rest of our day tomorrow. We visited the Old Mill and the Big Dam Bridge as planned, and did a bit of gourmet food shopping at the Fresh Market, but that was enough for the day, so we’ve got another full day planned for another time.

Sounds like a fun day! Great weather, too!!
Yum! I love the rolls of paper towels right on the tables. A place after my own heart! I always have to ask for more napkins and then wait for them to show up. Either I'm really messy, or I'm really neat! I've never figured out which.
Glad you had a fun day!
