Pin Cushions

If you remember, I plan to make a pin cushion for my next quilt guild meeting… there’s a prize for the best one.

Several of you sent me some great suggestions and links, but I found one that is perfect for me!  It may not win any prize as it’s fairly simple, but it’s adorable!

It’s a Heather Bailey design, and I purchased it at the Fat Quarter Shop.

While my darling spouse and I were out running errands yesterday, I told him about needing to make a pincushion.  He’s got a most warped sense of humor.  It’s amazing I am at all normal! /grin

His suggestion was that I make a Voodoo Doll pincushion!  Can you just imagine?  This guild that I just joined… well it’s held in a church.  And I’m not only the new kid on the block, but I’m a whole different generation than most everyone else.

I couldn’t resist a Google search, and look what I came up with.  I laughed and laughed and laughed when I saw it.

I’m sure that were I to walk in with this as my pincushion, I’d be tossed out on my arse in no time at all!

The younger generation are really into morbid stuff. It is ironic in a way that they are the children/grandchildren of the flower children. Your husband is very clever connecting pins and voodoo, and in touch with the current culture.
