Waaaaayyy outside of my box!

I am participating in an online sew along!  I’ve never done so, generally they are swaps of some sort, and that has never appealed to me.

This sew along however, sounds fun!  The group will each be making a little girl’s dress.

The pattern is McCall’s 8675, I will be making mine in a size 4, and probably view F.  When I finish it, I will need to find a little girl who would like to have it, as I don’t know any.

I picked up four yards of duck canvas, and hope to get the new leaders for my HQ16 made this weekend.  I purchased anti-fatigue mats to go on both sides of the frame and have those set up now as well.  I had to order new tracks since I’d cut mine down to eight feet, so hopefully they will arrive this weekend.  I’ll be picking them up in Paris Arkansas, so I will finally get around to visiting the HandiQuilter dealer here in the area.

Okay, let us in on the link to where the sew-a-long is.

It's a homesteading forum Cindy, not a sewing forum... that has a small section of sewists on it. I've always enjoyed the group, I think I've been on the board for around 8 or 9 years now?

Oh how I wish I could sew for little girls.....my DD at age 7 (she's now 21) found out you could buy clothes all ready made in the store so my sewing pretty little dresses was over. I look forward to watching your progress on this project.

Karen, I don't know any little girls either, this dress will be donated to one somewhere! Perhaps someone will speak up for it, or I will donate it to a church or goodwill. I would enjoy doing more "random acts of kindness" sewing (I detest the phrase "charity sewing"), it's a wonderful creative outlet, and I only sew things I enjoy making, a win win situation!

I am wanting to sew my daughter her flower girl dress with this pattern. I don't have a lot of experience under my belt, so I took the directions out to read them... she is now sleeping, and I can't find them anywhere. I want to sew this same pattern 8675, but I like H. I was wondering if there was anyway somebody could give me the directions so I can make her a lovely dress. Also, if there is any tips I need to know in making it. I hope it turns out great, because it will be very special. If not, I will have to buy one. :( Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
